Preparation for a wedding involves a lot of things, but for the bride, her attire is the most important. A woman should look and feel gorgeous on her wedding day and finding the perfect pair of shoes completes her ensemble. That being said, it is normal for a bride to forget comfort when shopping for her wedding shoes, even though the shoes is the least noticed of her wedding attire. We are known to stroll a pair of shoes a half size too big if it looks great.

Most often, high on our list of shoe shopping priorities are look and color; thinking nothing of comfort and fit. Never forget you will be on your feet a lot during the course of the day, finding a bridal shoes that fit you comfortably and perfectly will be in your best interest. Remember, it is your big day and you are the belle of the ball, walking uncomfortably down the aisle will be fairly obvious; you have spend way to much money to be uncomfortable on your big day.

No matter how beautiful your shoes are, if you are going to be miserable wearing them; do yourself a favor and find an alternative.

Finding Comfortable Wedding Shoes:
- Wedge or wide heel shoes will support your body weight a lot better than stiletto

- Choosing shoes with Leather or Suede insole will prevent blistering

- Try to wear a shoes with a comfortable heel height (Low to Medium heel)

- If you must wear those 3 3/4″ heels, have a comfortable back-up for the reception

- Try not to go outside your comfort zone when it comes to the height of your heels

- If wearing a lace bridal gown, avoid shoes with a broach design (Lace might get caught in the broach)

- Wear shoes around house a few times before your big day (Sometimes shoes are uncomfortable because they are new)

- Choose shoes that fit

- If ordering online, fine a local boutique and try on the shoes before ordering

Boutonnieres have become a lot fancier during the years, these days a boutonniere is a little more then a single rose slip into a buttonhole on a man’s lapel. For weddings it is customary to use a flower from the brides’ bouquet with baby’s breath or ferns; this adds the couples personal flair to the tradition of wearing boutonnieres. For prospective, a boutonniere is to a groom what a bouquet is to a bride, it provides a sense of style.

The price of just a single boutonniere can cost around $15 to $35 depending on the flowers chosen. I can truly understand why more and more brides opt to take on the task of making their own. I am not a big advocate of Do-It-Yourself wedding projects but boutonnieres are one of the simplest arrangements to make. If you are planning on using fresh flowers it is important to remember to store it properly. Try not to make your fresh flower boutonnieres more then 2-3 days in advance, recruit some help if you are worry about finishing on time.

Make your own:
Choose a small or mid-size flower
Add baby’s breath or fern (you could even use both)
Cut the stems about 21/2 inches below the flower head
Lay fern and/or baby’s breath then flower (Play around with flower arrangement a little until you like the way it looks)
Wrap stems with some florist tape

Pick your bridal party wisely, they are your support system. Your maid/matron of honor should be someone you know you can depend on. Give her the task of making sure all the bridesmaids place their dress orders on time. If making and/or assembling your own favors, invitations or programs, your bridal party can come in handy. Plan a girls night out, with popcorn, movies, music, snacks and favor bags… Assemble! Assemble! Assemble!
